Our Story So Far

The last ten years have been full of highs and lows. For those of you who don’t know, I started Bramwell Partners after one of the worst periods of my life. We had decided to end the family transport business. When thinking about what the future held for me, I thought who would want me; no one will want to employ me. The first person to make a difference was Michael Abel. He asked me to come and work for him. I had no idea what it was that Michael did. I knew it wasn’t in transport, did not involve trucks, and there were no employees to manage. Michael believed in me, and under his guidance, I learnt a whole new set of skills. Skills I never knew I wanted or needed, and most importantly, that role gave me the time to work out who I was.

Thank you, Michael Abel, of Abel 2 Consulting, for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to find out who Tameka Bramwell was.

The next people to make a difference in my life were Darryl Hearn of Agua Plumbing and Larry Brownson of Ledger Guard. I joined a networking group to promote a service at Abel 2 Consulting and met Darryl. Darryl said: “Hey Tam, can you help me with this safety stuff?”. My principle is: If I can help, I do”. So, I said “yes”. Darryl then referred me on to Phillip Piperidies of Perides Art Foundry and Phil referred me to Charlie & Anastasia Anthony of Retro Clean. Larry referred me to Clive Scott of Scott Metals. I am incredibly proud of the fact that after ten years, Perides Art Foundry, Retro Clean and Scott Metals are still our key clients today.  Larry and Darryl, thank you so much for believing in me and referring us to others.

Bramwell Partners became Bramwell Partners thanks to these five core relationships. We evolved using the fundamental principle that if we can make a difference to others, we will. The reality is that often I had no idea what I was doing. It is crazy that we hold ourselves back sometimes in ways of which we are not consciously aware. I was holding myself and a lot of other people back because I still held in my head the fear that I had no idea what I was doing, that I was a fraud and I was going to get found out. Friends are the best therapists you will ever get. Leisa Gill at BNI Bne Sth, West & Toowoomba, and Heather Jopson from Beyond Property Management recommended working with Tanja Caprioli, an Andreia Pty Ltd business coach. Business coaches get a bad rep, but the right business coach can change your world. And Tanja changed mine. I laughed, I cried, I got really, really angry and at the end, I worked out that I actually do know what I am doing, I can do this. I finally started to believe in myself. Believing in myself gave me the ability to believe in others too.

After ten years, this celebration is not really as much about Bramwell Partners as a business as it is about the people in our lives who made such an incredible difference to us. Those who have believed in us, supported us, encouraged us, challenged us and guided us.

No one is successful on their own. We have had some fantastic support that has contributed to our success. Our financial direction our amazing accountants Robert and Petra King at Experion Accountants. Our brand by the fantastic Genevieve Knowles at Veva Design. Business direction from Paul Farmer at Mentoris Group. The keys to our success have been the relationships developed through BNI and Bartercard.

I am incredibly fortunate to have an amazing team that I work with every day. I team that I trust and believe in 100% to have my back and to deliver what is needed.

I am so proud of Connor. I am proud of the work that he does. I am proud of how he does what he does. His ability to develop relationships and really connect with the people that he works with makes him an incredible HR & Safety compliance professional.

To Fiona, who would have thought that we would be here today when we started working together ten years ago? I am so pleased that Fiona is a part of our team. At an internal team level, we have come to reply on you so much. Fiona is the engine room that allows us all to do what we need to do!

Gemma, it’s a bit scary how alike Gemma and I are sometimes. We often look at each other and go WTF! We can sometimes be the most “unHR” HR team, but we keep it real. I really value being able to work with someone who gets HR in a small business environment and to bounce ideas off. I didn’t realise how much I missed Gemma until her return from ‘sabbatical’. She is always going the extra mile for our clients.

Wayne, You are the reason Bramwell Partners is a partnership! I couldn’t imagine anyone else by my side. Wayne keeps me focused. He challenges me in the best of ways. Most importantly, when the chips are down, he is there for the company and me. There is no-one better to steer this ship than Wayne.

Some so many people have helped us along the way. Friends, family, clients, referral partners.  To our amazing friends who like us despite our faults, to our incredible referral partners: thank you. Thank you for continuing to believe in us and what we do Kim Acworth of Acworth Recruitment, thank you, Larry and Darryl.

To our clients, thank you for believing in us.

Our journey so far is a story of belief.

Believing in others, until they believe in themselves.

Believing that there is a better future, that things will get better.

Believing that you can do it.
